I'm gaining back a little speed. Not much, and I'm not going to push it or over do it, but I am thankful for any improvement I can get.

I also got new shoes they are super cute, and comfortable however I got a few blisters.. I dont get blisters. They are the same brand of shoe that I wore before just a newer version. Asics stability, my guess is I just have to break them in.. but my poor feet! Hopefully this will go away soon.

8:43 minute pace. I think as I gain back speed, Im going to be much more careful and take a lot of slow days in between fast days.  I still have blisters on my toes and they hurt, but Im almost positive its just because I need to break in my new shoes.

I got a late start to my run this morning, but I went none the less. It was so beautiful. I guess it rained last night(?) and it had that wet, moist, and fresh smell to it. :)  I saw a few people walking and running and I tried to be happy and cheerful as I passed them. You know, running isn't the most important thing in life. I'd be just fine with out it.(but of course I don't want to live with out it) It's the nature and being outside and seeing all the beauty around that makes running so enjoyable. I'm so grateful today for my body and for my health, I'm thankful for my family, for good weather, for my job, and good days like these. Not the fact that its Saturday-though that does help. Just days where you're happy and content.

One week before hobble creek. I have lots of friends running this. Taper taper and I wish you good luck!

So yesterday I had two really bad blisters-one of which the skin completely came off (sorry tmi) I couldn't walk let alone run. I was pretty bummed about this, because I wanted at least two outside runs this week while summer and the good weather is still here. :( So I was pretty determined to find a solution.  It was on my pinky toe and right at the top so putting a bandaid did nothing. It would just fall off. I had no way to protect it or so I thought. (Mwa ha ha ha ha) then I got creative, and put super glue on it. Yep super glue. It didn't sting-and it hardened and basically acted like a layer of skin. This morning in the tub it fell off and it's already doing a lot better :) I reglued it and I think I'm in pretty good shape. I also went to big 5 yesterday and asked if they sold socks that help prevent blistering. They said they didn't but they did give me the idea to wear two thin layers of socks. One that sticks to my foot and the other that will rub. Since I had blisters I also thought that today I would wear my old Asic stability 1160 shoes vs my 2170.... BAD idea. No wonder I got injured back a month and half ago. Though I'm glad I got to go and after my run-my blisters were just fine! They had been protected ,.but my knees and back felt SO SORE (icing them now). I even walked .65 home to prevent more pounding on my joints. Needless to say... I'm glad I got new shoes and I think the two sock theory will help until my shoes are a little more broken in.  I ran slow this time but I'm amazed at how much I learned in just one day. Just goes to show each time it's a little different! I mean seriously look at how long and boring this post is! Sheesh
