Ran 5 and a half miles on the TM and 40 minutes on the elliptical bliss with Lily Julie and Jessica. Bliss as in... a little break for my legs, but still a good cross train exercise. I am excited to start blogging!
| |
| | Rest, Recoup, Recover so that you can RUN! Did a GNO last night shopping and consuming chocolate and I was a wee bit to tired to wake up. | |
| |
Got to the gym was not very motivated or excited, but I went anyways, when I got there Julie had a little present for me ! ha ha! Thanks Julie! Well that got me going! I ran 5 in half on the TM and started to get a little side cramp, So I called it quits and hopped on the elliptical and did that for 40 minutes . Spanish Fork Gym is not that great, but if you ever want to see a movie star--you'll find em here! Today we saw Olivia Newton John, and theres also a Jessica Beil. There's even a Patrick from Sponge Bob! Thats how we roll down here! OH! and Axel Rose.
| |
| | Only ran a little over 3 miles today, I want to be fresh for when I go for my weekend run outside! My body was confused that I stopped. It is used to going longer. I have already started to see results in my legs and stomach from running! It's motivating. I did the Elliptical for 60 minutes, and it felt like a breeze. No wonder my friends don't like it! It felt like I didn't good work out, but I know thats not true. :) Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a good weekend!!! | |
| | 2 hours of Elliptical. Thats right, I am the elliptical queen! It started out dark dreary and lonely, and by the end It was a party, I think I got a work out just from laughing so much. Not to mention good motivating convos--and not just the ones about cup cakes and brownies! Ha ha! I was very tempted to hop on the TM and do some running, but I feel good that I didn't. My legs and back were a little sore and now they feel stable and fresh for tomorrow! I am nervous! I am going running with friends, I hope I can keep up and I hope the weather is okay! :) Wish me Luck! | |
| |
uhm, Was anyone else TICKED about the rain on Sunday?I was really stoked to go run outside and get my OUTSIDE fitness level up, but no no no!! GRRR. Its June--and it was Fathers day! Bah. Whats up with this crazy weather! Seriously, how am I supposed to fit the miles in? I work 40 hours a week and the weekend is one of the easiest times to do that. ANNNNNYWAYS. All in all though, I had a great weekend, and even though I didnt get to run outside, I did get to be outside.. and I even got a work out! James and I went swimming, we did laps, flips, dives and just had a fun time! It was only 8 dollars for the both of us and totally worth it! I hope I burned enough calories for Sunday Dinners Fried chicken! ha ha! Well, thats all. How was your guys weekend?
| |
| | Ran 7 on the TM while listening to 8 mile. Kind of ironic isn't it? lol. I don't really like Rap, but it has good beats to keep a good pace. I feel sore, but not too bad. I will ice today. I was thinking today that just a month ago I was only running less then 3 times a week, and generally only 3 or so miles.. So even though I still have a long ways to go to reach fitness goals.. I still have come so far. I shouldn't compare myself to anyone but myself, and *I* am doing good. I just have to remember to go slow and steady and don't get ahead of myself. Did 25 minutes of elliptical after. Overall... pretty good work out.
| |
| |
The other day, I came to work and found my chair missing. So I pulled up the big exercise ball. I thought it would be good for my posture. Turns out sitting on a ball gives your back 0 support and can only do one thing. Strain it. *sigh* . Its not too bad. Its actually feeling a lot better from yesterday, but these kind of things scare me. I hope I can run tomorrow. Any suggestions or tips?
| |
| |
Today was rough at the gym. I lotioned up before I headed out, and I will neeeever do that again. While lotion makes your skin soft and smooth, it also clogs your pours and doesn't let your skin breath--which is never a good thing when working out! My blood sugar was also low so I didn't run very long today..Just a little over 4 miles and then did 50 minutes on the elliptical .I'll try longer tomorrow!
| |
| |
Ran 6.5 on the TM. I sang and stared at the gym eye candy. It was a great time. Did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Roy came over and talked to me. Good guy. He offered to test me with his machine and find out my percent of body fat i have, but honestly... I am not a number girl. I get fixated on it, and let it define who I am. Besides, if I don't focus on numbers I find myself doing better at reaching my mental and spiritual goals as well. I like to be balanced all over. Anyways He said he could pretty much guess just by pinching me with his fingers so I let him do at least that. He said I was about 23... *shrug* Is that good? I hope so. I try. ha ha! See I get all nervous after I hear a number. I think I would like to shoot for 21 percent.. which is a reachable and doable goal if I work hard.. but we will just see! How did your run go? Was it as enjoyable as mine?

| | 1 lonely hour on the elliptical 1 lonely hour on the arch machine. 15 minutes of tanning 1 gas station trip AND THE WEEKEND IS HERE! |
| | Ran the river trail with Julie this morning! :) This was my first time on the river trail, and now I understand what all the fuss is about it. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. One more reason why I adore and love Spanish Fork. Julie set a good pace for me, and even though it was probably dirt slow for her, I was quite proud of myself :) I easily could have gone two more miles. I watched Green Lantern yesterday, and it talks about fear and how fear disables us from achieving great things (such as failing) . I know I personally let fear get into my life too much. Thats why I never really even thought of running. I was too afraid I wouldn't be good at it. While I am not great, I am glad I faced my fear and gave it shot. Who knows what other great things we can do and accomplish if we only just face our fears. We must have faith things will work out.. and then they will. Julie thank you for taking the time to run with me. It meant a lot. :) | |
| | Took a muscle relaxer last night for my back. I think that helped. It feels a lot better... Work is going to be rough though.. I feel incredibly tired. |
| |
Ah! Slept in! Part of me feels really guilty for doing so, but part of me thinks I needed it. James and I have been super busy the last few weeks, and even though I could have got up.. I guess I will forgive myself and remember whats REALLY important and give my mind AND body a break. Ill be there tomorrow for sure!
|
| | Woot. Over Eight Miles on the TM at the gym today. This is the farthest I have ran yet. :) Ran to 6 miles, stopped..got a drink. Ran the other 2 miles. Walked 5 minutes and did the arch trainer for 10 mins. I would have to say this is a pretty good work out.. Its too bad it doesn't make up for missing yesterday. Maybe I can go to the gym tomorrow....? With YWs and James film going on... That will make it more difficult. Either way I am proud of my mileage today!
| |
| | 9 miles on the TM. 9:22 pace. Farthest time yet :) This was easy...! I told Jeff a friend from the gym that I ran 8.16 miles and he was impressed...It made me feel good because he runs a lot. He does this Nike challenge thing so even though I don't know his mileage, its gotta be ton! I don't run to impress or beat anyone.. I run for myself and make personal progress but its always nice when someone takes time to notice and appreciate the hard work you do. | |
| | Ran a dinky 2 miles on the TM. Didn't want to run too much after yesterday.. plus give me some recovery time if I decide I want to run tomorrow. I feel sore. Blah. 50 mins on the elliptical and 50 minutes on the arch trainer. No one was at the gym today.. SWEET! |
| |
I had coconut m&m's and a fast break yesterday. It was amazing! Why am I posting this on my running blog??? because tomorrow I better get my rear in gear! Eek!
| |
| |
Did the elliptical for a hour in a half. I would have ran, but when you wake up before even the sun rises.. I dont always trust myself on a machine that I could easily fall off of. At least the elliptical you have handles. Good people good talks. I love the gym. :)
| |
| |
10 miles on the TM!!!!!! I found where my husbands secret stash of candy is. I didn't even touch it! but needless to say... He will need to find another spot, yet again. ha ha!
| |
| | 2 hours at the gym. I texted my friend (who also runs) and I think we are going to go for a long distance run one of these Saturdays! Excited. | |
| |
I did speed work today. Well... I wouldn't call it "speed" work cuz I am not very "speedy" but my general pace is about 9:22 and I did 9:05 for about a third of the time and 8:49 for a few minutes. So I guess I'll call it progression speed work. ha ha. Today was rough, I haven't ran in a couple of days and lost some stamina. Thats a quick fix though! After my run, I did 20 ish minutes of elliptical
| |
| |
7 miles in 65 minutes. Ran 9:22 pace and 9:05 pace alternating every five minutes. 25 minutes elliptical. I just realized I ran faster yesterday then I thought.. I ran 8:34 pace for a few minutes yesterday, I double checked when I was on the TM today.
|
| | 1 hour elliptical 1 hour arch machine at the gym.
1 hour at the Payson swimming pool! :) |
| | "No one of us is less treasured or cherished of God then another. I testify that he loves each of us- Insecurities, anxieties, poor self-image, and all. He doesn't measure our talents or our looks; he doesn't measure our professions or our possessions. He cheers on every runner calling that the race is against sin, not against each other."-Jeffrey R Holland. ( My Favorite Apostle. ) |
| | I have a huuuuuuuuuuuge knot in the left side of my lower back. I have iced it, and had my husband try to rub it out...It's still here. Not good. I have vacation in two days, and I would like to be able to run. Going to the chiropractor today. Hopefully that helps, but just in case anyone have any suggestions? |
| | Got my back worked on, and I think it helped, but still sore. A hour and a half of elliptical. Not going to try to run till Friday. :( Roy at the gym said the gym doesn't function with out me. Ha! I know that's not true, but it made me feel good. Thanks Roy!
| |
| | Half hour of Elliptical 1 hour of arch trainer. VACATION STARTS NOW!!! | |
| | Lots and Lots of hiking today!!! Love Zions!! |
| | Easy sauce! Love the Golds Gym in St George. Ran 7.2 miles and few minutes of the elliptical |
| | Cardio Cinema rocks!!! Got a blister. The size of quarter. This sucks. Ran 8.2 and some Elliptical |
| | One hour and 20 minutes on the arc trainer at Golds gym in St George. I was really hoping to run today, but I have a huge blister the size of a quarter from yesterday and it popped. I learned my lesson and bought some good running socks today, but I am a gimp and paid the price. Ugh, please get better soon! On the flip side... My vacation was AWESOME!!!!!!!! I even exercised 6 days with a total of 21.90 miles. My goal is to get to 30- 35 a week. So getting closer. Pretty proud of myself. :) |
| | I woke up this morning completely confused, I had forgotten I was back home in Utah--county that is. It feels good to be back. I will miss the cardio cinema but not as much as I missed my friends! Eeek! I can almost walk normally on my blister foot! :) :) :) Yay! Maybe I will be able to run tomorrow or Wednesday. Happy Holiday (even though it was really yesterday). Can't wait to see how everyone did in Speedy Spaniard! Happy Monday all! | |
| | 1 hour elliptical. 30 minutes arch trainer. Sit ups. | |
| |
Ran 5 miles alternating a 8:41 and 8:57 pace every five minutes. 15 minutes elliptical. 30 minutes arc machine. Getting faster :D
| |
| | 7 miles in 62 minutes. :D Its not any record pace, but a few months ago, I could only run 6 miles in about 60 minutes. This is pretty huge for me ! After I ran I did sit ups and was about to kill over when out of nowhere a little birdie flew in and "You can do it put your back into it!" and off she flew... quite literally too, shes hauls ;) after I did the elliptical and got to talk to one of my besties. We laughed and talked. She is a runner too! I told her about frb. Best work out I have had in a while. I realized that when I work out alone, I really push myself and reach new goals, but I am so grateful for all my friends. I really am. People are what matters most in life, and I am so grateful I have friends to listen and care about me. |
| | Ran up canyon road turned left at the light house straight to the Golds Gym, down on to main street, up to the high school, ran 1 mile at the track, and then back home. I ran solo today and I know I went slow slow slow. Thats okay though, its Sunday. :) It was a little harder route, especially going up hill on canyon road, but good. Started running at 6:15 and got done at about 7:12. So my GUESS was about 5 to 6 miles and I was close I just drove my car and found out the mileage and its about 5.6 -5.7 miles. | |
| | Elliptical Queen. 1 hour elliptical 30 minutes arc... or was it the other way around? Can't remember. Sits ups and I was outtie! |
| |
9 miles 10 minutes elliptical . "suffication no breathing" lol I had that on my ipod today, and I laughed, I couldn't breathe either... nooo jk, I could :) considering I was doped on diet coke from last night and didn't get much sleep, I'd say I got a pretty good work out. Yay! Friday, Dinner with the hubs!
| |
| | Golds Gym today. I don't know what it is about today, but I seem to have better self image, Im so cheerful,I smile, I sing silently to my ipod, and I could literally break out in dance on Saturday! Maybe it's because I get more sleep and I am a little more rational ??*shrug* I don't know, but its by far my easiest day to burn the calories! Which is quite interesting, because its also the longest work out day I have! Anyways... walked home. I think thats almost 2 miles. Not running... :( but every little bit counts in my book. Cafe Rio here I come!
So question for all you pro's ;) ???? So yesterday 4 hours later after my work out, I was at my desk for a while, then I got up and my knee KILLED to walk. I mean OUCHIE! It didn't hurt to stand, or sit, only when I walked. So I iced it, and stretched it out and a mini panic attack! A few hours later it felt a lot better. :) Its still a little irritated today.. Do you think its safe to go running tomorrow, or do you think I should wait? If so, how long would you wait? lol, I guess I am still in the process of learning patience
| | Gah!!!!! I keep doing this!!! Posted my work out on the wrong day. Cardio Day at the gym. Elliptical. Laughed a lot thats good for the stomach muscles right? |
| |
It's officially one week from the knee injury and I could run fine :) I turned the TM down three notches and just took it slow. It was hard not to run a little faster but I don't want to risk it. Arc trainer for 27 minutes.
| |
| | I did the hardcore sit ups that Roy taught me, maybe if I do them I will get a hard core ;) Ha, k I'm obviously not the comedian in my Family, that would be James. My husband. Lol 2 hours of the Gym, Holy long Batman! It was worth it, we went to the zoo and ate at Red Iguana 2 tonight! YUMMMY! | |
| |
45 minutes of elliptical. 45 minutes of running. I am eating more veggies and fruits in my meals, and trying to cut back on the refined sugar.. It's hard, but with each passing day, it gets easier. Or so I tell myself. Icing the knee and the back.
There is already 5 comments on here, I keep putting my work outs on the wrong day! Just a little ditsy like that!
| |
| | 5 miles on the TM. 3 sets of sit ups, front and both sides and 43 minutes on the Arc Trainer. Yay Friday!
| |
| |
I did some weights last night with James. Me? Weights? Annd on a Friday night. Psh. That's just how James and I roll Now on today, Guess I could put that on yesterdays post, but thats one more click. Eh, too much work. See how lazy I am? ;) Ran 5 slow slow slow miles on the TM. 1 hour and 15 min on the arc trainer... oh my lanta! What a long and boring day, but I will say I am grateful that I could run and I had limited knee problem.. I think it's my IT band. Iced it and stretched it today so I hope that helps.
Cafe Rio tonight! :) Cafe rio salad! That way I get some veggies in there too right?

I slept in this morning. It felt so nice. I opened my window a little, and when my alarm went off at 4:20, I got up.. stretched looked around, and I heard the crickets chirping. It was so peaceful. I laid back in bed and for a good 20 minutes just listened to mother nature. The sheets felt so nice and cool, and finally I turned back around and fell back to sleep. It was a nice morning.
Granted-I should have got up. :( The last month, I have not worked out as much as I would have liked. My goal is : Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and sometimes Sunday.
I guess it's a work in progress.
Trying to eat better as well. I am going to type what I ate yesterday to make me accountable.
Breakfast: Morningstar Breakfast Sausage (Veggie Sausage)
Morning Snack: Fiberplus yogurt
Lunch: Celery, Broccoli, carrots, ranch dressing and string cheese.
Afternoon Snack: Fiber Select crackers, Cottage cheese, Fiber one Chocolate bar.
Dinner: Chicken Cordon on bleu filled with Broccoli and cheese--It's actually quite good. Served with mixed veggies. peas, green beans, corn, lima beans , etc.
After dinner I had a couple pieces of lunch meat.. not much and then my dang husband brought home some french fries. I had a few. Grr.
Anyways! Trying to do better! :) Wish me luck.

I was talking to someone today about diet and exercise and filling them in on the things I have learned and thought were helpful. I started expressing how I felt, and I realized how much I love to work out and run. Maybe not as much as some, but I still do enjoy it. That's probably a bit of the reason why I seem to get depressed/stressed(nothing serious) is because I've only been doing it 3 or so times a week this past month or so. It seems this happens to me. I hit my goal and then slowly start to slack off again. It's so hard to wake up as early as I do, but I would SO rather do in the morning then after work. ugh-NO way!If I were to wake up 40 minutes to a hour later I would have no complaints!
I don't want to be a gym rat either. I don't need to be a every day girl nor do I want to be. I want to be healthy and fit.Not a pro, not a elite, just healthy and fit. Don't get me wrong-its not like I am far from my goal I really only want to work out 1 or 2 times more! I know I am not lazy or anything. I just need to get back in the habit. This is something that truly makes me happy, and a lot of satisfaction in my life. I know its up to me and I am sure I can do it, but if you have any motivating words/thoughts-spill the beans!!!
Oh PS nothing too harsh, I'm just a young sissy girl!
| |
| |
Praises to the heavens!!! I ran today, and for the most part I took a steady 9:05 minute pace. The last ten + minutes I got down to a 8:34?? I think ? Got off the TM with no pain. :) This made me one little happy girl. 35 minutes elliptical.
I read this somewhere and it made me laugh "It's all about perspective. One person it's crap- to another it's fertilizer" ha ha! Ain't it the truth!
| |
| | Arc Trainer 15 minutes. 60 minutes on the TM 9:05 minute pace. 15 Elliptical 3 sets of sit ups. | |
| |
1 hour Arc Machine 1 hour Elliptical. Didn't want to run and jack up my knee for my hike later today. Originally we were going to go hike Timp Cave, but the wait was a 3 hour long line (we even got there before 11) So we took our business elsewhere and hiked over at Sundance for free! We went to bridal veil falls. This one was short, and out of ignorance we hiked straight up on nothing but rocks. Ya, we are just hard like that. We had no idea there was a actual trail. Better work out right? We had to use our whole bodies to get up.. not just our legs. We then also went to another place to hike and this trail was still small but def harder and longer. James called me a pansy for walking so slow, but really I was just enjoying Mother Nature. MEN! So I showed him up and started running up the mountain! I was surprised I actually had quite the stamina and endurance to go longer then I thought. My husband kept up with me but when I finally stopped he gave me the death evil glare. LOL Sorry James! Anyways To save the mushy gushy details he forgave me! This was the hike we had on our first date! Oh Memory Lane! PS. I am going to the gym/working out Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This is to hold me accountable!
|
| | I Ate good all day today. I haven't ate one single unhealthy thing. :) The worst it got was my powerade zero. I know it has zero calories which I love, but I don't know about the artificial sweetener. I hear stevia is okay because it comes from a plant... Hmm. Sobe life water and Vitamin water zero have those so I'll probably switch over. This is just a reminder that I am GOING to the gym in the morning tomorrow. No excuses.
James started school today. :) One step in the right direction. I think that is a good omen for us... Good things headed our way? I hope so!
| | Sit ups. 1 hour elliptical. 30 minutes arc trainer . I did it! Now for the rest of the week. | |
| |
I had a small wheat thin explosion yesterday, but at least it has fiber and considered somewhat healthy. I guess I'll forgive myself, and realize it's okay sometimes and just do better :)
Sit ups. 6.58 miles on the TM with a good friend Ginnie. I have a lot to learn from this gal! :) 30 ish minutes elliptical with Julie and Jess. Good times.
| |
| |
I REALLY wanted to run today, but my knee and back were sore yesterday so I didn't think I should. As I got to the gym it so happens all the TMS were taken anyways. Ha. Sit ups 30 minutes elliptical 1 hour arc trainer. I had a conversation with Jim, the same conversation we always have about muscle confusion. He either 1- Is trying to hint something to me or 2- has a bad memory. lol, oh well ! TGIF!
| |
| | Sit ups. 1 hour elliptical. 1 hour arc trainer 5 minutes walking on the TM (just chatting)
Going to keep my goal by going at least 4 times a week. (Which I accomplished this week!) Starting Tuesday, I have to go! Ginnie has something to give me! :P |
| | Walked around the river trail with my husband. He caught a little snake, it was cute. Harmless, but It still gave me the creepy crawlers! lol. Not really exercise but we walked for a good 40 minutes. So I'll count it. Happy Sabbath. |
| |
Happy Labor Day! (even though I have to work) That's okay, I prefer to make my *own* three day weekend when its not so crowded. (That's me trying to be positive!)
This is just me writing that I will be working out tomorrow to hold myself accountable. :)
| |
| | 3 sets of sit ups. 45 minutes arc trainer. 5.12 miles on the TM in 45 minutes. The last mile I got down to a 8:12 minute mile pace... which is the fastest I have ever ran! I felt I could have gone longer, but I needed to go and get ready for work. Got off the TM pain free. No soreness. Nothing! :)
I think having a warm up BEFORE I ran made a huge difference.
| |
| | 4 Set of sit ups. 45 minutes arc trainer. 45 minutes on the TM. Got down to a 7:53 minute pace at one point! Though I only held it for 5 or so minutes. Didn't want to hurt myself. Though I did keep a average of 8:34 :) Which is good for me ! Getting better! | |
| | A few sit ups. 1 hour and 5 minutes arc trainer (interval training)-with different levels. 30 minutes elliptical. (cool down) and then 4 miles in 34:45 minutes on the TM at 8:41 pace. These miles were hard, only because I did it last and had already burned a lot of fuel already, but I pushed through it and survived. :)
The Spanish Fork Half is today. It's the one I originally wanted to do before I got hurt and James lost his job because 1. It's cheap 2. It's in town 3. it's on a Saturday 4. Its late in the summer. AND I just found out it right by my house! :) Go little runners! I don't know what race I will do, but I hope over the next year I can progressively get better with out getting any serious injuries. Here's to good health!
| |
Over the weekend, James and I got a Hamster. His name is Izzy. 1st of all I gotta say I am pretty proud of myself, because I for one am scared of Mice. He is cute and he runs on his wheel. It reminds me of a little mini TM. A Hamster can run up to 8 miles in a night! INSANE. He is tiny! I thought that was interesting.
Anyways... I am just writing on here to hold myself accountable. I am planning to be eating good today, and hitting the gym tomorrow. Hold me to it!
| |
| | Sit ups, Elliptical 45 minutes 5.17 miles in 45 minutes on the TM at a 8:41 minute pace.
I might try to go to the gym tomorrow ...We shall see. :)
| |
| | Sit ups. 1 hour and 30 minutes on the elliptical with some cutie girlies :) | |
| | Sit ups. 45 minutes Elliptical with Julie. 45 minutes on the TM at 8:41 pace. Last mile got down to 8:34 |
| | Sit ups. 45 minutes elliptical with Miss Julie who let me listen to some AWESOME SONGS on her ipod! Thanks Julz ! 9.15 miles on TM at a AT LEAST 8:34 minute pace. I got down to a 7:53 at one point and kept it there for a few minutes. Merri came at the last of my run, I looked really sweaty I am sure, but she talked to me about interval training and how to do it.. Since I am getting faster, I am thinking about doing this once a week???
Today got me kind of excited. I haven't run this far in a while. It wasn't bad at all. I know I could do a half. :) Who knows maybe Ill surprise myself and do one this year after all.
I achieved my goal of working out 4 times this week. If I do this two more weeks in a row, that will make a month! *crosses fingers* Keep encouraging me! I NEED this during the fall/winter when I consume all the chocolate gooey goodness!
Cafe Rio Saturday's. I'm gonna get me some porky salad tonight! (never gets old)
| | Two miles at the river trail with my hubby. Short but sweet... I kept ahead of him the whole time! | |
| | Hiked the Y at Young Womens, which is 2.4.. but I went half way back down and up again... :) Fun activity. If you go be sure to give yourself enough time before it gets dark. |
| | 47 minutes Arc Machine . Interval Training. 45 minutes Elliptical with Jess and Julie. Didn't dare run after hiking the Y. My knees felt super shaky on the way down. Fun to talk to the girlies. | |
| | Still sore. 45 minutes arc trainer. Interval training doing 3 minutes on level 35 and 3 minutes on level 60 alternating. I am low on Iron. I felt really weak after the first half. 45 minutes elliptical with Lily and Julie. :) Getting excited for all the warm yummy pies.. mmmm! | |
| | Sit ups. (I am starting to actually see results from this! So exciting) It makes me think maybe I might want to do some more strength training and weights. :) 1 hour arc machine (Three minutes on level 35 Three minutes on level 60 alternating) --I think this is good for cardio fitness but also for muscle strength in the your legs and booty when you have a higher level. Thirty minutes on the TM. The first half I did interval training. So I did a 8:12 minute pace for 60 seconds and then did a 11:00 minute pace (so a light jog- practically walking) for 60 seconds alternating. The second half I did a a 8:41 minute pace. Didn't do much running. My legs are STILL sore. 30 minute cool down on the elliptical. Came home and drank a full glass of Green tea to kick start my metabolism. | |
| |
3 sets of sit ups. 7 miles in 60 minutes on the TM. Ranging 8:41 to 8:08 15 minutes elliptical. 15 minutes arc machine.
Now I shall have some Kashi Golean 7grain Waffles and green tea. :)
| |
| | Sit ups. 45 minutes arc trainer. 45 minutes Elliptical with Julie. TGIF. Good luck SGM runners!
|

Sit ups. 1 hour and 15 minutes on the elliptical with Jess. It was SO fun to talk to her. 45 minutes arc machine . Seriously, the friends I have NOW are so incredible. I didn't think I could get better friends then I already have or the ones I gained in HS, but the cool thing about having friends OUTSIDE of HS (even if they are still the same ones) takes on a new meaning. You get to see you friends go through REAL things. Such as: Get married, Having children, graduate college, buy a house, battle depression, marriage problems, go through real life problems but you also get to see them work through and past them! You get to see real life accomplishments which brings me to one of my best friends Lily :)
Today after I got home from the gym, I turned on my comp on and watched her live stream, finish something incredibly hard. SGM!!!!! The heat looked miserable. She did great! So proud of her, and happy I have friends who continue to make me want to be better :) Love you Lil. I also got to see Merri finish, and I think Kristin from our Gym finish too. Monica, a dear friend of mine also got to run this race. I am so proud of everyone that ran it. Great job! Watched General Conference. :) And you know you're tired when you and your husband go straight to bed for two hours before the next session. ha ha ! James and I have had a extremely busy week , so we crashed! It will be good to have tomorrow off.
(and I have no idea why FRB makes the font different sizes with the diff paragraphs. It's probably my lack of computer knowledge/skills.)

Today's work out was crazy... and not crazy good, not bad either, I just was everywhere! Couldn't decide what I wanted to do, and the gym was packed! hehe. Ran 1.2 miles on the TM at 8:19 pace which was a little too fast for a "warm up". Went out to the weight area and did some leg work outs and sit ups. Came back ran with Lily for 3.5 miles at around 8:34 pace. (She obviously went faster) Stopped for a quick breath and stretch. Ran around 2.3 more miles and slowed down the pace it 8:41-8:49 pace. 30 minutes Elliptical but then my foot started feeling a little numb from all the running so I went to the arc trainer for the last 30 minutes. Was going to go do some arms but I got intimidated and realized I needed to get home. Oh and for the record, I won my husband's and I bet. It's FAAAAAAAALLLL! Excited for all the cute vests, pea coats, scarfs and sweaters... oh lets not forget cute jeans.... :)

| | So I have some new goals. I think its totally doable too! Somewhere I read or heard that if tell your goals to someone that your more likely to achieve them. So here goes nothing !
My first old/new goal is to work out 4 times a week. (lol this has always been my goal) BUT-I have a plan of success now! ;) I have a friend Lacy and we text each other in the morning. Sometimes I text her, sometimes she texts me and asks :are you coming today? It's up to us to say yes or no, but we are held accountable. I know for me personally if I say no, I feel terrible! So far we have done this two weeks and have hit our goal at 100%. We've come 8 times. :)
My second goal is :Try to run 4 times a week. Granted this will really depend and change depending on how I feel. I listen to my body, so there may be times I am sore and I don't. The weeks I do though It will be 2 longer runs (not TOO long, 6 miles or above) at a slower pace and two faster shorter runs. (not less then 2 not more then 4 miles) The fast runs will not be "speed" work outs, just a faster pace to keep me improving. I don't see a lot of point in speed work in the winter.
My third goal is to incorporate weights into my work outs. I have found the machines that build muscle groups I want to tone. So I'll be doing it! Ill be honest thought, I am not going to use EVERY single machine or spend a TON of time doing this, but I know that even just a little can go a long ways and by doing this will help me become stronger, less injury prone, and burn more fat and calories during the day. My goal for this is 3 times a week.
My fourth goal is never compare my progress with anyone else but myself. I do that all to often and its damaging. It's not fair to me OR that person. This year i have done GREAT! I focus on my flaws but now that I look and I've done-Ive come a long way!
To list a few important improvements:
I've learned how to run! Where my fee should land, how my form should, how to pace myself.
I've gained some speed. I use to run at 9:22 minute pace and now even on my slow days I run faster then that. At least a 9:00. The fastest I have ran is 7:56. My average is about a 8:34. So it ranges but all in all, I am faster.
I've learned how to control my breathing
I've ran as much as 10.50 miles. (A few times actually) It wasn't really even hard! This is only a few miles away from first running goal. To run a half>
I've ran outside this summer. Not as much as I wanted, but still more then I ever have.
I've watched TWO marathons now to support my family/friends. Its totally inspired me!
I've kept a running blog. :P
I've gained new friends.
I cross train and I cross train hard.
I listen to my body when it needs to res or time to recoup.
AND
I've been injured but haven't given up. . . . which I think is the ultimate test of running and anything in life for anyone and everyone. To endure and to keep trying and working at it.
Thats all folks!

3 VERY easy miles on the TM. I was planning on doing six miles, but I felt faint and shaky so I stopped and did a hour of elliptical. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some mileage in.

4 sets of 10. Arm curls. 4 sets of 10 of another Arm work out. 3 sets of 20 sit ups. Leg work outs. Lacy taught me another way to do sit ups that work different muscle groups, it was hard! I want to try incorporate that into my work outs!

I love this weather! I really am not looking forward to waking up even earlier in the winter to avoid snow/traffic etc for work!
I said I would not be a scrooge this year though, so... Im going to say something positive to counteract my last statement. I love the pretty colors! James and I want to take some cute fall pictures! :)

Nothing major I still have a ways to go, but progress is progress. 1 hour on the elliptical with Julie on level 14 going forward and then reverse every few minutes. 30 minutes on the arc machine going from level 60 to 100 (this was hard!) every few minutes. 30 minutes on the TM, the first 15 minutes I did interval running at 8:49 minute pace for 2 minutes and then 7:24 minute pace for 1 minute. Regular running the last 10 minutes and 5 minute walk (cool down). Still feeling sick. It's hard to put mileage in when you can't breathe!
